The PADI Open Water course is the most popular entry‑level diving certification in the world. It takes 3 days, and once you’re certified you’ll be qualified to dive anywhere in the world independent of an instructor to a maximum depth of 18 metres.

Haven’t dived for a while and are a bit rusty? Don’t worry you can refresh your skills and your knowledge by taking a Refresher Course with one of our instructors. Still keen on learning more about diving or want to improve your diving skills, you can continue your diving education here, at Leisure Dive Center, by completing your Advanced Open Water Course.

Programme Structure :

Knowledge development : The first step into the open water course. This knowledge development helps you understand the basic principles of scuba diving. The theory is split in five chapters with questions, called knowledge reviews. You will receive the eLearning by email and complete all the theory at your own pace before we start the dives. Once finished, your instructor will review the key concepts with you and explain in practice everything related to equipment, techniques and safety. The paradisiac environment and your instructor are here to make it easy for you.

Upon enrolling in the course you will receive the PADI Open Water eLearning (available in many languages). All theory must be completed independently before we begin the in‑water training on Day 1. This ensures you arrive fully prepared and ready to focus on the practical part of the course.

Day 1 – You will meet with your PADI instructor who will teach you how to set up your dive gear before taking you into shallow water either off the beach or in the swimming pool to practice some diving skills. This session lasts approximately 4–5 hours, with breaks to rest and stay comfortable. During this time, your instructor will also review the key theory concepts with you to ensure everything is clear before moving on with the course.
Day 2 – You’ll jump onto our dive boat for a half‑day trip diving around the Phi Phi marine park. On the way to the first site you’ll go over a dive briefing with your instructor to prepare you for the dive, then you’ll head into the water for your first open‑water dive. This first dive includes a couple of exercises you practiced the day before, but mainly focuses on your swimming and buoyancy skills while enjoying all the amazing marine life around you.Between the two dives we’ll stay on the boat to do a debriefing of the first dive, eat some fresh fruit, relax, and go through the briefing for the second dive. After that, you’ll jump in again for your second dive, which includes a few more skills but still plenty of time to enjoy the fish and the beautiful underwater scenery.Once we return to the beach at around 2pm, we’ll head to P.P. Erawan for lunch before you enjoy the rest of your afternoon.
Day 3 – You’ll go onto the boat once again to complete dives 3 and 4 of the course. This time you will go to a maximum depth of 18 metres. During dive 3, the first minutes are dedicated to completing the required skills before continuing with a normal fun dive. During dive 4, the dive is planned to be a fun dive from start to finish, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the marine life and feel fully comfortable underwater.

The course includes all PADI materials (each student receives their own manual to keep for future reference), certification costs and insurance. The minimum age is 10 years old.

Cancellation made between 14 day(s) and 20 day(s) will be charged 50% from the total amont of room reserved.
Cancellation made between 0 day(s) and 13 day(s) will be charged 100% from the total amount of room reserved.
